OPPORTUNITY FOR PRIZES AT THE END OF THE NIGHT IF YOU GO TO EVERY RESTAURANT

YOU MUST WEAR A T-SHIRT AND WRISTBAND IN ORDER TO GET THE DISCOUNTS AND ACCESS TO THE VANS.  WE HOPE THAT THIS WILL HELP DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM STEALING FROM A CHARITY.

We will have a few vans in a constant route for pick up and drop off throughout the Tavern Trek.  They will circle the area - you can hop on whenever you like or enjoy a nice walk to each of the establishments.  You may stay as long as you like at each place.  Walking is encouraged.
We will meet at the end of the night to raffle off prizes.  End of night celebration - will be at Liberty Ford - under their tent!
You must dress in the Tavern Trek T-Shirt and a wristband.  This will allow you to receive the specials at each restaurant along the "Tavern Trek".  We will have two pickup times prior to the event so you can come dressed for success!  The first will be at James Place July 28th from 6-8pm and the second will be at the Mason Jar on July 29th from 6-8pm.
This event is hosted by the Aurora High School Alumni Association - HOWEVER - it is open to EVERYONE 21 YEARS AND OLDER.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Aurora High School Alumni Association.
We would like to make a special thank you to Mark Godale for all of his efforts in designing our Tavern Trek T-Shirt this year.  Mark is an Aurora High School Alumni - Class of 1989.  He unfortunately passed away this year.

On July 30th, 2016,  almost 300 members of the community participated in the inaugural Tavern Trek, sponsored by the Aurora Alumni Association. Eight local establishments participated, offering food and drink specials to those who had purchased the Tavern Trek 2016 tickets and were wearing their official Trek t-shirts. These included The Mason Jar, James Place, The Aurora Inn, The Cabin, Doogan's, Papous Tap & Grille, Mad Jack's and the 1815 Tavern. The Association was proud to note that transportation between establishments was provided, as well vans were available to take Aurora residents home, to ensure everyone had a safe and fun time.

Prizes included a 50/50 raffle, gift card packs to randomly chosen trekkers who visited each establishment, and a cash award for "best picture" tagged on social media with #TavernTrek2016.

Net proceeds from the event will go to help the Aurora Alumni Association provide scholarships and put on the annual Hall of Fame induction banquet for Distinguished Alumni, Honored Educators and Athletic Hall of Fame recipients.

A Facebook page, Aurora Tavern Trek, has been created to show pictures from this year's event. In addition, the community is encouraged to "Like" this page to get complete details on the 2017 Tavern Trek. Tickets sold out quickly for this year's Trek. Next year's event is scheduled for July 29, 2017.
